Muffler support tube

When attaching the muffler to the right, is the front clamp bolt meant to run through the third support tube hole from front?

The third hole is for dual exhaust and the second hole is used for single exhaust as
the factory did it. Either one will work for a rider......Rod

Thanks Rod. That helps. Currently I am trying to fit up the single exhaust with stockish parts for my '64, and at this point I'm not sure I have the correct support tube identified. Here are the tubes I have.
The top two look to be the same.
The next two are alike, but differ from the first two by being wider at the bolt hole shoulders that mount it to the frame.
The last two are longer than the rest (16 inches vs 15.) and if you'll notice, the second of these have its bolt holes through the tube at 90 deg. from the rest of the tubes.
Can anyone help me sort out what I have here?

Do you believe your bikes are setup like factory? If so do your tubes mount so that the bend sticks out or in on one or both sides? The parts manual drawing actually shows them oriented like the bend is UP on-both sides, but if that were the case, only the last tube in my pic has it's mounting holes oriented like that. Also do you use the -49 spacers and how are they oriented?

Yes they are as close to factory as I can get them. The tubes bolt on with the bend
towards the wheel on both sides. I think you only need the spacer for dual exhaust
when you us the third hole for the front muffler clamp.

Cool, thanks Rod. One more thing, the parts book says that the dual setup use two different support tube part numbers. Can you identify the difference between the two so I know which ones to use and not use?

The left bracket is the opposite of the right. They both bend in towards
the tire when mounted and they both hang down towards the rear.

If they both hang down at the rear, then that should be the identifying difference...then you couldn't swap them side to side.
Thanks again!

Down and in. Right will not fit left. I've never seen one 1" longer. Later model maybe? Bob

Do they bolt to the frame on the inside or outside of the "horns"?
