1949 BSA C11 250cc. Bought two years ago as a bucket of parts and still not yet running, but I'm getting there!

A Cushman, yea buddy. Drove that puppy everywhere, surprising how well they do in desert river bottoms.

Re: what was your first motorcycle?
The first motorized bike I rode was my buddy's Whizzer back when we were in junior high school in '60 or so, while the first motorcycle I owned was a '71 Honda 500 FOUR.
The first Harley was a new '81 FXWG Wide Glide that was quickly modified with an S&S Super B carburetor and Fubar double-wall headers.

Re: what was your first motorcycle?
Told my dad I wanted a Vespa. This was back in '62, when I was 15-1/2. He took me to Dudley Perkins and I sat on a used FL. Those two red lights coming on when the ignition switch was twisted was something else. My first bike was a Harley K-model, something like this:
I went instantly from a nobody to a cool guy at Capuchino High School in San Bruno, CA. That was a cool bike. Wish I still had it. I put the lights back on it, but nothing was hooked up, so they were just for show. Oh yeah - no front fender, and rubber bellows on the front forks.

1941 Harley 80" Side Valve. It was built from the ground up. All my friends had owner built choppers. Here is a pic from 1973.

Re: what was your first motorcycle?
Recently came across this picture of the first one, a Cushman that was a a hand me down from one of my older brothers. When their stuff broke they gave it to me, so I fixed it and rode it! I was about 11 or 12 in this pic, holding my young cousin.

Re: what was your first motorcycle?
I'm not as nostalgic as you guys and have only been riding for about 15 years. My first bike was a blue 2004 Honda CBR600RR, i walked into the dealership and bought the first bike I ever sat on in my life, then I had to learn how to ride it. Eventually a few moths later I started working at that dealership and have been here ever since.

Re: what was your first motorcycle?
First was a minibike, 3-1/2 HP Tecumseh. I was 11 and shared it with my two younger brothers. Dad made us sell it after the air-cleaner canister fell off and went under the rear tire, launching the bike and my 7 yr old brother into a low orbit.
First 'legal' motorcycle was a '66 Honda 160 Scrambler at age 13 or 14 (1970). Still have it.

Not counting Rupp minibikes, I got started on this hand-me-down 1976 Kawasaki KE100 (pictured below in 2014).

Re: what was your first motorcycle?
Was looking for a photo of the hand-me-down 1976 Kawasaki KE100 and found this photo of my father and me on a 1999 Harley-Davidson MT500 (GI Joe) and a 1995 BMW F650 (Thumper). Feel kind of dorky for posting this (and including the nicknames), but I know my dad would have wanted me to. He loved all motorcycles (especially Harleys) and he loved giving them nicknames. I think about him and miss him every day.
