Dear Panhead_Kicker,
That really does take me back in time!
Were you at the Easyriders swap at the fairgrounds about '76 or so?
When they burnt all the railroad ties because there was nothing else for firewood?
Had to ask,
PS: Mine aint so ratty in a photo:

Re: RAT bike get in line and post YOUR rat
I'll jump in, but I'll bet that most of us are all rat riders, so let's get the pics posted
trip to Louisiana about 6 years ago on the rat '47, one sorta chrome rim, one kinda black, sidecar fender light on the front, lamp cord on the switches, old set of Miller spots, lots of stuff you can't really see, but it ran like a new one and it made it there and back again just fine.

I wouldnt call the '46 knuck above a Rat bike either--just a nice, unrestored original condition old Harley with a good assortment of period "jewelry" .

Re: RAT bike get in line and post YOUR rat
Here (I hope) is a picture of my '50 Pan the morning after I rode it home, sprayed it down with mineral spirits, and hosed it off. As I suspect happens in many pictures, much of the rust and corrosion and remaining dirt doesn't really show.
It's been through many changes since this pic. If anyone is interested, IM me an email address and I'll send a Smilebox my wife made for my invalid brother, showing some of the many changes.
Edited to add: Finally got it sized!
Regards,
John

Re: RAT bike get in line and post YOUR rat
Panshovevo...Just cause a rat chewed on your seat a little don't mean its now a rat bike. Nice bike though..so far the closest thing I've seen to a rat on this thread was the furry four legged critter standing on the side car. You all got some goodlookin scoots though..IMHO

Re: RAT bike get in line and post YOUR rat
The knuck is actually the best example of a true "rat", its a conglomeration of whatever was laying around the shop to bolt on the bike and get it back on the road; late model duo front end, '49-'50 tail section on the rear fender, '51 tanks, etc, etc. If you rode that bike you could have a ton of fun telling different stories about what it was (is) to the uneducated idiots asking questions. I know I would. Great bike, ride it like ya stole it!108 wrote:I wouldnt call the '46 knuck above a Rat bike either--just a nice, unrestored original condition old Harley with a good assortment of period "jewelry" .
