Re: vintage photos
What are the parameters for these pictures ? What constitutes 'vintage' ? This is vintage 2007.

Re: vintage photos
vintage enough Rick. The mountains are old, the bike is old, and, like most of us, the rider isn't getting any younger either. But, that's a GOOD thing!
mike
hope ya don't mind, I shrunk the picture a little, it was pretty big. You can put the full size one in the gallery.

Re: vintage photos
Thanks Mike. The shot above was taken along the Blue Ridge Parkway not far from Maggie Valley.
To make up for it's 'newness', here's a few oldies.

Dave, that's a terrific photo! It's the original Harley workshop from around 1907, isn't it?

Re: vintage photos
Great topic. I love old pictures. Mike
Riding on the river. That's my mon siting side saddle. Grandpa's taking the pic.
Grandma and Grandpa on their ride to Pikes Peak in '63 or '64.
1981 The Eagle Soars Alone. Buy back from AMF. H-D Sales Napoleon Ohio.
On the trike is my dad my sister and I. My mom on the FL and family friends on the FX. This pic was taken in front of H-D Motor Co. at Juneau Avenue 1975. The famous entry steps are just to the right of us.

Re: vintage photos
Yags,
The old pictures WITH PEOPLE are the best, and they're even better if the people are family and friends.
I gotta ask, how did your Dad shift that trike? It's a neat rig, is it still around?

FlatHeadSix
My dad, Marv, sold that bike around '81 or '82 when he started to build a FLT chassis trike. He's not sure what ever happened to it.
His shift linkage bolted to the rear of the crankcases. I would compare it to how a mechanicl rear brake setup goes from right side to left. The shift lever was just behind the right floorboard and he shifted with his heel.

Re: vintage photos
Tom, I'd have to drag a couple of books out and check, but I think it could be as early as 1904 when the shed was doubled in size.Bigincher wrote:Dave, that's a terrific photo! It's the original Harley workshop from around 1907, isn't it?

ha ha, can't get nuthin' past you Mike. That shot was taken around 1995. There are three pans & two knuckles.
My bike was red at the time. That's it on the far right. The PS work took about 30 minutes. Thanks
