I guess 1968 can be considered vintage. The only known photo of me an my bike when I was 19. Typical 60's deal. No front brake, suicide/jockey, and an engine not gone thru. 2 into 1 into 2. Seems like only a hunnert years ago. That Olds was only 10 years old. Ro

John, the factory made those 1949 "Air-Flow" fenders with braces for the springer forks and used them on the servicars until the servis got hydraulic forks in '58, some of the last WLs had 'em too.

but, you're correct, they just don't look right on a springer

Which of those definitions don't apply ?
That is a modern shot of a vintage bike, it is not a vintage photo. Vintage in this case at least meaning on film and not a digital shot!
Period meaning being in an actual time frame where it originated, not a modern depiction of a certain time. Not a thing wrong with the picture or subject matter, it just isn't old!
the thread is titled Vintage Photos, not "photos of vintage bikes", a subtle but important difference!
