TYPE OF GREASE FOR STAR HUBS

I JUST REBUILT TWO REBUILT STAR HUBS, SHOULD I USE A NEW TYPE HIGH PRESSURE BEARING GREASE? I THINK I READ SOMEWHERE THAT HARLEY USED A LIGHTER TYPE GREEZE ? DONT MEAN TO SOUND STUPID, ONLY WANT TO DO IT RIGHT FIRST TIME ONE TIME,

I don't use anything fancy. Just a sythetic wheel bearing grease from NAPA. Can't remember the brand.

I used the regular HD wheel bearing grease, It's blue and quite sticky, Part number 99855-89. Mike

Just don't mix grease types later. Even if you do, do it regularly.

I use an H-D ® grease tube (99856-92) in a Lincoln ® pistol-grip gun. I found that forcing the grease through a zerk fitting, and onto a scale, required 33 trigger pulls to squirt out 1 oz. (as required by the H-D ® service manual). It's blue, it's sticky, and H-D ® grease doesn't have the sulphur reek that most grease has.

I buy my grease from home depot, case of tubes $30 for 6 tubes, Red n Tacky, it has high temp n doesn't wash out, I use it on everything,even on my
34 ford pickup
