If I have a pan, over 7 months, it's way too long.

Bought my 1953 FL in April of 2017. Been a great ride, but still learning how to start it without kicking it a hundred times.

Many, many, many happy miles since I got this '59, my first Harley, in April 1975. It was in a straight leg rigid frame with a sportster tank and 8" over forks, 21" speedway wheel. I never really thought about restoring it, I just kept changing this and that over the years to get it to this point. It's still my main touring bike.

You've brought the '59 a long ways, islander! Quite impressive!
I bought my old chopper in 1974; it's titled as a '59, but there's nothing about it that's '59. Knuckle lower end, panhead top end, wishbone frame, 13-over springer, 21" spool front hub.
And the best part..? Virtually unchanged since 1975..! And still the most fun to ride of the four I own!

bought my 49 in a swingarm frame in july of 92. had and still has parts from 49 thru evo. had a suicide shift foot clutch setup on it. with the drum front brake working like shit it was a real adventure coming to the stop light on the hill I had to go thru everyday! changed that out to foot shift hand clutch when the trans shit out at end of summer. been working on it ever since. finishing a rebuild from an accident in 2015. this pic is from 2007 or so at the vous in upstate NY.

I've had this Pan, a '56, for about 2 1/2 years, but I just put her on the road a few weeks ago. She has been rebuilt from the ground up and I am having a blast just doing the short break in runs. I had my last Pan, a '55, for almost 15 years when I wrecked her, and that was 20 some odd years ago. Feels good to have one again, such a unique riding experience.

Pic is probabky 20 years old. Now it is down to the frame for a long over due "take-it apart-and put-it-back-together", as closely as I can

Pairing it up with a 59 hack and 3+R transmission with frame-mounted shifter. Yes, not correct but i want to keep the 5-gallon tanks

I have my pan only since 4 month.... A friend of mine bought it in 1996, dissassemled it, started the resoration, but lost interest. Since 15 years I was asking him to sell it to me. in June this year he accepted my offer! :D Bike was totally in pieces, but was in my own workshop (i share with some friends) so no big risk of missing parts. I'ts a 1950 EL, mostly stock and I want to have it up and runing (as close to original I can get) next year in June. I also have 2 1980 1200 FXE's, one of them I have since 1982.

I'm reading here in the forum nearly every day, and found very good advice and help in many threads already!! Many thanks for that! I will show pictures when she's ready!
