Re: Any good WL/WLA/G Projects going on
Decided to post some pictures of my flathead during the tear down before my rebuild.
Tech Tip of The Day "NEVER use silicon gasket maker on a Harley engine!!!" Every orifice was filled with blue silicon.
Enjoy!

SO what are folks using instead of silicone ? I've seen some folks using Gasgacinch . I remember using that 50 years back . It was a lot easier cleaning

Re: Any good WL/WLA/G Projects going on
I purchased Repro tanks off of Ebay back in 2019. I never cleaned them out / flushed them. They were on the bike while I had my oil pump issue. So since the engine had to come out, I have been catching up on things that I either didn't do, or forgot to do.
This is the oil tank, It was filled with oil briefly, I flushed it with Mineral Spirits, 1 gallon to be exact. Wow!

Do you have the framework, springs and suspension for the box?

Re: Any good WL/WLA/G Projects going on
I'm going to have the side panels bead rolled. robidaconcepts.com is a local guy. The only thing is he wants all the paint removed. I guess they prefer bare metal panels to bead roll. Gonna go with 3/4 of the side panel in a rectangle and then another half a smaller square. This will give a rigid factory applied look. Not sure how much he's going to charge yet. Rob Ida is the Tucker automobile restoration expert in NJ. There is not a lot of people left who want to do this work unfortunately, and that's a skill that takes a lot of practice. Better off paying someone in my opinion. One and Done.

Another mock-up......in Black/white because the bed and fenders are different colors.
