(Is there a better book than Clymer?)
Just about any book is better than Clymer!
The first place to start is with factory H-D service manual, riders handbook, and parts book. All are available from your dealer, in reprint aftermarket, or on eBay. The factory '59-'69 manual covers most all mechanical issues. Either a '61 or '68 parts book will help immensely. The '65 book is not reprinted and there is no book specifically for '62. The riders handbook was reprinted by H-D and you may be able to still locate one from a dealer if not from eBay. H-D also has some compilations of multiple books in one which are also available from dealers. Check them out!
And don't neglect to search the knowledge base on this site.
Palmer's book is a must have!

I have had a lot of help from people in this site and I want to thank everyone for being so helpful. The group that makes this site run on a daily basis is doing a great job keeping the site interesting and informative. I am the one that was drawing a 1952 FL as a spare time project, and that went well with the kind help and encouragement that I received from everyone. I had to have heart surgery so I have been away from my post for awhile but I am back now stronger than ever and I have started phase 3 of my project. So come check it out!

This forum is priceless, I was able to find out how much of my 63 FLH is original through using the knowledge base. And I appreciate the lack of advertising so when you click on something you go there right away instead of sitting there waiting twiddlleng your fingers like on the other big site.

Thank you very much for a one of a kind forum dedicated to Pans & Flattys.

This site is packed with useful information and help. In the old days you had to scrounge info from people and swap meets in the hopes they were giving it to you straight. Things in the old bike world have definetly changed for the better with the help of people like you guys. Thanks Jacass

I don't post much, because I don't know much, but I do appreciate what I read. The lads on the UK site are also very helpful (and tolerant). Have to say, if you are on the journey of sorting a well deserved machine, you need a bit of help now and again.

Aloha from Hawaii, ... love SPAM so much I made it my username.
On the other hand, e-spam is the scourge of cyberspace.

My '52 pan has been in the family since '67, now it's my turn to ride it until the next generation is ready.

Palmers books are great!/If your doing a OEM RESTO--This is a Must have --Also practically anything you read is better then CLYMERS!/Clymers is ok if you never changed oil or put sparkplugs in.,But you will find in rebuilding a complete motor There are just parts -that are not explained correctly!A factory Manual for your year bike can be down loaded here on this site!/The K-BASE is filled with questions that you will have -including the one you just asked.EXPLORE that (KNOWLEDGE BASE)-section --it covers it all!.---Respectfully---Richie
