Re: Leaking oil from generator mount bolt
Makes sense why it was not covered in the manuals Robbie. This should make my generator removal less painful without the worry of aligning any shims. I will pull out generator inspect oil leak and replace generator gasket and hopefully home sweet home. Oh, forget to mention with generator out. Shoukd I check internal components like brushes, feild coils, armature e.t.c, and clean any dirt, oil or grime that might exist inside the generator? This should be an easy process or am I just creating a thorn in my side?

Joey

Re: Leaking oil from generator mount bolt
I also noticed a small leak under my generator, changed the gasket, same thing, 2nd time I noticed the lower engine case hole was lower than the gasket surface. This time I used a little extra sealer below the hole and after it was tightened wiped away the extra and let dry. hope this works, haven't run it again yet. I will try to post an image

Also note the circles 90 degrees out from the bolt holes. These are from the generator side and sometimes don't seal due to a very thin area on both sides of the hole that compress the gasket. looks very close on the lower one.
