If you are keen, you can cut through 70up ring gear welds, re-machine step on clutch basket/drum, & reweld ring gear.
But I prefer later OE or AM solid ring gears, they still shed small shrapnel into primary, but no big nasty pieces of busted up laminated ring gear.

He also says "NOS", and that usually means "New Old Stock", so, which is it?
I asked the seller if it was riveted or solid and got no response.
Very shaky seller whom I would avoid....

I have sold a ton of items through eBay's Global Shipping with no issues. So, he is either lying, or incapable of telling the truth....

So, Hogey, the issue is not the ring gear but the clutch shell, basket, bell or whatever one wants to call it....
You need the correct 1965-69 part to install a ring gear to, no?

Roo i purchased a 70 - 84 clutch shell with solid ring gear. The plan is to remove ring gear and move it to 65/69 specs i can use my old one for the measurement. Now how to do this? Remove material from shell. Option 1 but i dont want to cut into the holding rivet. So i may machine to the rivet then counter bore ring gear . I realise the ring gear will be hardened but done in a mill might do it. I will talk to my machinist . I wont receive basket till after Xmas and every thing shuts down hear anyway. Any thoughts advice thanks in advance.
