Pertinax was used for PCBs (Printed circuit boards). It's something like Bakelit. AFAIK it's not available anymore since it's emitting Formaldehyd.

aka Tufnol, Micarta and linen or cotton reinforced phenolic resin, usually brown, often has a faint Phenol smell. Also used machined for pulleys for old aircraft control wires; machined as old British bike magneto and generator drive gears; molded as old car helical timing gears; machined as early BMW MC rear suspension bushings; boat cutlass bearings (underwater at prop shaft); huge sheets used as electrical panels in old power-houses and other installations etc etc; One of its great properties is it does not melt, it will eventually char and burn. Can be molded for mass production, or easily machined for low production. Not yet banned everywhere. Relatively pricey if bought retail as bar or sheet, but if one looks, lots can be found in demolition/salvage/scrapyards, very useful stuff. Caution: some old electrical panels asbestos sheet.

Nifty

But not at all like Bakelite, which is a molded plastic, once molded and set it can not be re melted...

I redid some tail lights and I had to buy 100 of those little buttons but I forgot what they are called. I just wanted you to know that they are available from places like Newark and Mouser. I just kept googling and guessing possible names until I found them. Try things like bulb socket contacts etc.
