So I am attempting to piece together what I need for the sidecar that is going on my 65 project.
The backrest has a latch on it with a cover plate
The approximate dimensions:
When Merle was still around the cover plates were included with his seat package
It appears to me that he probably sourced it from a ready made supplier.
Anyone have an idea on a source?
Second question: The checkstrap material almost looks like the same type of material used for fire hoses
Anyone have a source or can tell what type of material it is made from?

Re: Side Car Accessory Parts
The checkstrap material is known as webbing, comes in many widths & weights
A good upholstery shop should have some.
Or for khaki, or green, try military surplus stores,
Or for modern equivalent try mountain climbing/extreme camping equipment suppliers, might need sunglasses for some of the colors.
Some dog leashes made of similar stuff, can probably dye black.
Nifty
