Troubles finding Part#s
The 62FLH12xxx that'll soon arrive at my place has some parts that need to be fixed immediately upon arrival.
But I am having troubles to find the corresponding parts in the catalogue.
1) It seems to me that the screws for the primary cover (see picture attached) are depicted in the catalogue....but without a number
Does anyone know the OEM Part# and maybe a source for NOS?
2) The cable that goes from Neutral-Switch at the gear-box to the Indicator-Lamp in the Dashboard is missing. But i can't find any spare-parts in the catalogue???

Re: Troubles finding Part#s
Keep in mind that the farther away the publishing date of the catalog is the less likely you are to find a correct part number or any number at all for obsolete models. There was a factory parts book for 1961 and another for 1965. The '62-63-64 years only had a supplement to the '61 book but they are not illustrated. The '65 book would likely be your best bet. They can be found on eBay as well as other sources.
All of that being said there does not appear to be a part number in any factory source for that cable. It appears on the wiring diagram in the '62 Riders Handbook as a green wire in a single asphalt sheath going directly from the switch to the light. It would have the same end on it as a push on oil pressure switch (post type, not blade).
Primary cover screws are easy as they are the same for a very long time.

Re: Troubles finding Part#s
I will try to get my hands on 1965 Parts-Catalog and a 1962 Riders Handbook.
Even with the link provided from @panhead i'm still unsure what would be the original screws for the primary-chain-cover? In the drawing there are only Numbers for the 1965 and later models. In the drawing for 1964 and earlier there is a screw shown, but no number. (see picture attached) I want to make it as original as possible.
For the neutral switch connector i found part# 9905 that seems to be it?
But what is #9941 Terminal Clip for Neutral Switch for ?
And what would be the appropriate Terminator for the neutral-indicator-end of the cable?
What Diameter for the green cable was used originally?

Re: Troubles finding Part#s
Look at the '54 parts book on this site. The screws are the same. However you are showing socket head screws, never used by H-D on a Panhead with tin primary covers. But the covers you show are the wrong type and are custom aftermarket so factory screws would probably not fit. Your covers should be the '55 to '64 type, you have '54 and earlier versions on there now.
You also mentioned earlier tank emblems not being correct. Only '61 and '62 shared the same emblems and the gas tanks for them are very specific. No other emblems fit the tanks. They have a factory indentation for the emblem to fit into. Here is a picture of a factory tank. Lots of pictures will help identify what you have but my initial thought is it was put together with whatever was available to sell.

Re: Troubles finding Part#s
Ok, i feared already that many parts are not correct.
Lots of screws - as yoi already mentioned.
Maybe you can see some more faulty parts from the pictures?
It will come with original trumpet horn +
original carb

Re: Troubles finding Part#s
Very ice looking custom motorcycle, typically called a resto-mod, for restored/modified.
I like the look of the rear fender sans support rails, but WTF is there to keep that fender from flopping around when underway?
That squoozed out sealer at the heads to manifold joints, totally unnecessary if assembled properly, is a sure sign of an uncaring assembler. A little brake clean, a rag, and a toothbrush, usually takes care of that surplus squeezed out material both of crappy silicone sealer, but also the necessary Teflon™ pipe sealer on pipe threaded fittings.
And you are worried about the primary cover screws?
Still, a nice bike if it starts, runs, and rides well....
Best Wishes, really.... RooDog....

Re: Troubles finding Part#s
Nice bike! It will drive you crazy trying to get all those nit picky things together to make it correct, only to have someone come along and hand you a list of everything that isn't right. I was there. My solution was to enjoy my machine and gather all those things buy going to swap meets and shows. I never got all of the items I needed.
How do you like the CV carb?

Re: Troubles finding Part#s
Is that rear fender internally braced? Where are the fender struts? The list of stuff I see wrong for '62 is pretty long. Are you sure you want to know?

Re: Troubles finding Part#s
Yes! It's not bought yet. Theres still time to flee, so please: Fire!!!
I don't want to make it perfect. If that would be my intention i would buy a different bike.
But this has some nice numbers and frame, which is rare enough on European. Market. 9 out of 10 Bikes have tampered Numbers.
The rest if the Bike seems.to be a mix of parts. But for German market its quite cheap. I rather prefer riding my 1st Harley than just hunting a dream.
Yes, the silicone is ugly. I will put another Carb on it anyway so i will work myself through that as well.
Some of the things i find disturbing e.g. Hex-Bolts and i want to change them.
Having older parts on the bike is no problem for me... But younger parts.... Hmmm. I already found a pair of 1962 Tanks
And no, Fender has no internal bracing or so

I can't tell. Bike was not ready to start. But I don't like the optics on that bike. I will change it most probably
