'28 101 Scout on eBay

I know very little about what's right and wrong with these old Indians. I'd love to hear what you Indian experts think of this one.
Always thought a '28 101 Scout would be a great bike to own. Not a chance I'm going to be able to afford it once the bidding is over but it's fun to dream.

My good friend Bob passed away about 3 or 4 years ago. His Scout was his pride and joy (I believe it was a 29), and he had many bikes. You walked into his living room and were greeted by a Velocette and an AJS. His son has the bike now. I don't know what he's doing with it. I would like to see him be able to hold onto it, but I'm afraid that when he inherited the house, etc., he inherited a some debt, so I don't know how his financial situation is. I had the experience of riding the Scout once. It was a bit small for me. Beautiful bike, though. Bob (R.I.P.) is the man walking across the background with suspenders.

I put mine in the Tower of London, next to the Crown Jewels.

Mecum money is an expensive joke. bike value is what someone is willing to pay

that guy has a Polaris which he prefers to ride instead

that black one has Jnr scout forks. custom frame for a "hill climb" tank and a car alternator
101 and early scout both have 25 degree necks, the 101 frame is longer
the ebay bike has Bosch magdyno, no need for generator off primary

there is a 101 shop manual which restorers use as a guide for correct parts. https://www.101scout.org/

Found that same Scout advertised on that site you linked. Cycle Trader ad says 45K "negotiable".
