Not too bad a job. The characters are of even depth, and nicely in line, though a little high and crooked....
Big Twin, eh?

One of the worst I ever saw many years ago was a Panhead engine stamped with a number for an H-D lightweight. The guy had a title saying Harley-Davidson on it so used it .

My SO's brother-in-law bought a 45, VIN is 46UXXXX.
He explained "it's bored and stroked to 80, so they changed the number".
Never found out if he got caught.

He only gets a 5 here, because not EVERYTHING I said was wrong.
Put more weight into it next time.

kitabel, apparently you were not happy with me posting the 1953 letter but it had nothing to do with your post #8. After I read the first few posts in this thread I remembered the letter so I planned to post it. This was before you posted at #8. But by the time I got back to it you had posted. Again, and for the permanent record, me posting the 53 letter had nothing to do with your post #8.

Would it be possible to flatten out this letter and process it through a scanner into a PDF file?
It would make a nice bit of trivia for my Harley file....
Thanks....RooDog....

RooDog, I don’t have the letter. I saved the picture of it from the net a while ago. Via PM I sent you an unedited version which includes a picture of the envelope and I also sent a photo of the bike.
