Re: Identification help. please
Appears to be a '22-'24 J series bike. Someone can likely pin it down closer, but the fender started with full side valence in '22 and in '25 there were lots of cosmetic changes. That may be a '24 type rear chainguard on it.

Re: Identification help. please
Is that a frame tube passing under the crank case ? I thought this was last used in 1923 ? Forging used thereafter ??

Re: Identification help. please
I’m guessing 23 or 24. Notice the rear mudguard has three braces and it seems that as of 23 models the amount of braces increased from two to three. And do I see a hinge? Because apparently the rear mudguard was hinged as of 23 models. The taillight too may be the type introduced for 23.
But I’m leaning toward 24, partly because of the battery. It changed as of that model year and it was secured by two wing nuts. Do I see a wing nut on the left side of the battery? Also for 24 the front mudguard changed slightly and I’m guessing that one may be 24, partly because of its shape at the very front.
As for the frame, it appears to be no later than 24. The frame changed as of 25 models and it’s mentioned on page 57 of Inside Harley-Davidson by Jerry Hatfield and on page 30 of The Legend Begins. Also changing as of 25 were the tanks, seat etc.
