USA Weather II

#1

Post by RUBONE »

We were looking forward to a snowstorm that was heading our way but instead got hammered with extreme wind and very little snow. Now I have a huge amount of work to do which preempts any MC projects. :x This is one of three damaged buildings, luckily the house fared well. Some neighbors lost a lot more.

All of our vehicles have some damage, my wife's car was battered by debris, my trucks all suffered broken windows, trees were uprooted and/or snapped off, yard furniture was destroyed, lots of heavy items were picked up and tossed around. I found one piece of the barn roof up against a fence over 1/4 mile (420 M) from where it was torn off. Some neighbors still are without power 3 days later with temperatures this morning at 8F and a high of only about 30 predicted with tonight supposed to be -1F. Not a very nice Christmas season for many. At least ten homes locally were completely destroyed so we feel quite lucky. It was a very narrow path as it only affected a swath about 500 yards wide but miles long.

That sucks! Glad to hear your home was relatively unscathed.
