Here is the original link by socalrider back in December 2010 with other replies including Bigincher's link to the CAMAIG star hub rebuild. If you look below the responses at the bottom of the page, you will see similar responses to other starhub discussions.

Everything ya got to know is in the manual. The only difference is that at that time and space nobody had a micrometer (Caliper) sitting on the kitchen table. Follow though accordingly. Bob L

Be sure you understand the hub end play. It must be set and checked under tension, not a loose hub on the bench.

Just thought that I would ask. While I am in there should bearing retainers be replaced? Got front hub disassembled. Races in hub looks good. But. Going to need new hub sleeve and fit bearings. Thanks.

It can be frustrating when nobody gives a direct answer to your question, but that's better than someone answering just because they think they have to, and possibly giving incorrect advice.

As long as there is no visible damage,I have always reused the original retainers when refreshing star hubs. If needed Everything else gets changed i.e. rollers ,thrust washers, shims, inside collars. Have done a few this way without any problems to date.good luck
