I want to clean up the threads on my left hand tank where the cross over banjo fastens through the fuel shut off valve and I was hoping that some one may be able to confirm for me if the thread is 3/4 - 18 UNS before I go and do something that I may regret.
Cheers

Re: Fuel Tank
Thanks for that Bob, I had read that was the thread but as I had never heard of it I wanted to be sure before I try and source a thread tap so once again thanks for confirming that for me.

Re: Fuel Tank
3/4-18 ns taps can be purchased for 20-50 bucks. I just bought a good USA made used one of eBay for 6 bucks plus 6 shipping. There are new ones on eBay and Amazon but I would be cautious of the made in China ones. McMaster Carr probably has quality ones available also.

Re: Fuel Tank
Mcmaster-Carr sells noting quality. It's nothing but Chinese shit just like Grainger and totally over priced.

Re: Fuel Tank
I have purchased many thousands of items from McMaster Carr for work and also some for personal project use for well over 25 years. They have countless quality items and yes made in China stuff like most places these days. No they are not always the cheapest but they have almost everything in their catalog and website in stock and being only one day regular ups shipping from Chicago I can order by 7pm and have it the following day. Shipping prices have skyrocketed like everything else recently though making a small purchase from them costly. I am sure that the 3/4-18 tap they sell would be fine but a cheaper one can be found.Robert Luland wrote: ↑Sun Nov 14, 2021 1:48 am Mcmaster-Carr sells noting quality.
