Instead of changing the fitting to h4 I found these:

Anyone has any experience with such leds? I want to lower the load on my relative small battery. Thnx.

I get your question..
Realize when it comes to any kind of light, you have Lumens and Candlepower. To disinguish between the two
Lumens is how bright the light is at the source. It has nothing to do with how strong and far the light will beam down the road
Candlepower is how far the beam shines down the road. Hence, takes allot of power
Yes, LEDs use less power, but dont throw the light far down the road and it becomes very hard to ID objects down and on the side of the road with safe braking distance, which is why you really dont see LED spotlights for long distance veiwing

Re: LED bulb in cycle ray headlight P30d
I have these lights. Though I bought them from a different source looks exactly the same. I run the 6 volt system I'm very happy with the light. I very seldom run in the dark unless I've been at a buddies house and have to go home. I do have spot lights that I'll turn on in that case. Also I don't often run with the main headlight unless I'm in city traffic or in a place where I feel I I want to be seen and the draw on the electrical system is pretty low.

Thanks for educating me on this, I wondered what the difference was between CP and LU, and kinda guessed it had to do with different measurement systems but didn't read on it yet. CP is not mentioned for these LEDS, LU is. Based on the response of @NiteOwl I conclude that your right on the money here and guess it will be a bit of a trial and error whether my night vision is good enough while running a LED.doc9339 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 18, 2021 4:26 pm Lumens is how bright the light is at the source. I run a Zauleon P36D in my 6v 741 Indian. Fitted 2.5 years ago. Looks the same as your link but with different socket fitting. No issues. I often run the light during the day. Also I was able to turn the generator charge rate down.

I have ran this type of led and as stated they do not reach out very far. They are bright white light and stand out but do not reach out like a h4 halogen. I use a led lamp with a driver/ballast that I get from classic dynamo & regulator conversions in England and a h4 reflector for the cycleray from vtwin. It provides a bright white light that reaches out comparable to a halogen but draws way less power on the 6 volt system. I have not looked at their website lately but they may have something even better now. They are at : www.dynamoregulatorconversions.com

I don’t ride at night much either. However, I have these in two 6volt BMWs. As stated, they produce a bright white light that is more visible in the daytime which is mandatory in my state.
