I always liked the Billy bike more.
One of the originals turned up in Perth, Western Australia of all places, about 25 years ago. It was displayed in the window of a restaurant/bar.
I was interested (of course) so I asked about it and the story was that the owner had bought it at an auction in the US and imported it for the display. The person I spoke to didn’t know if it was running but it looked complete.
I didn't see any providence or certificates of authenticity but I had no reason to doubt the story. Perhaps if it was a CA the might have been reason to be dubious but I doubt the Billy Bike was widely copied at the time.
The restaurant is long gone, as is my memory of its name, and I have no idea what happened to the bike. I have never seen it around the city since so I guess it was sold on and taken elsewhere.

I saw this movie when it first came out and it was what got me on the chopper trail. In 70 bought my 58, pulled the motor and trans and a few other things and built me a chopper. girls like choppers and I like girls.

Have you tried to watch it recently? I couldn’t get through it. It was so lame. But back then, it was cool.

Yeah, The billy bike was great. Kinda like a Frisco build. And yes, if most watch it nowadays, especially younger folks, they tend to get bored, possibly thinking it was going to be a classic 1960-70 American Intenational Pictures Biker Exploitation pic (I used to see those all the time at my local drive in)

There were some funny ones (don't know if they were from American International Pictures), like "Hell's Angels On Wheels", or "CC Rider" with Joe Namath. I was watching a rerun of "Adam-12" the other day and there was a "biker gang" (Mickey Dolens of "the Monkees" was a member)that was stereotyped to the extreme. The dialogue was really funny. Corny even for that show. Some cool choppers, though - a couple of Triumphs, a Sportster, even a flathead, if I remember correctly.

I saw that Adam-12 episode too. I like the dirt bike race and how the gang worked with the cops to get the bad guys.

Yeah. Chased them right up into the trails with their choppers. Then the head of the gang basically told Malloy to f... off right after that.

WIll died not long ago, but played the pres in CC Rider, and in many biker and a action flicks. If you look at his bio, he was an extremely intelligent person, worked intell in the Navy, and spoke 3 languages or more. If you see the original Red Dawn, the speech he makes is one of the lanaguges that he speaks

Worked with about every Hollywood major actor in the 70-80's

From CC rider Joe Namath: "Pack of Juicy Fruit Please"..... Zebra themed Shovel with that gorgeous red head, whats her face......

Chrome and Hot Leather was one of my favorites: " You dont mess around with a Green Berets Mama"

Yeah, she was a hottie. Now Hollywood Joe (a.k.a. Broadway Joe) is doing commercials for life insurance or something aimed at seniors involving getting the most out of your social security benefits. This is after a stint in rehab. He was a guest commentator for a football game and he planted a liplock on one of the female guests and that got him into some trouble.

If Uncle Joe can do that, why not Broadway Joe?

I went down the same path. Still got the '55 that I bought and turned into a Frisco style chopper.

They showed that kiss on a female reporter last week on a short TV clip about his carreer. He was obviously really shit faced, and was wearing a huge 70's type male fur coat. What I didnt know, is when he was a Q back, he could snap/throw the ball so hard, it actually made a snapping sound. The camera guys thought it was a glitch in the audio. I dont think any other Q back has ever snapped the ball so hard on a continual basis

Now I cant get Ann out of my mind.......... :) The best part of the AIP movies were the variety of sleds. Brit, some Japanese, HDs, trikes, etc. If you saw them for the plot or acting, I'm thinking you shouldve snuck in instead of paying for a ticket!

About a year ago I bought a CD that had clips from 60-70 biker and hot rod exploitation flicks. Pretty crazy and fun to watch

"The Wild Ones" had some cool bikes, too. Mostly Brit bikes and Harleys. You can see a Matchless with the "M" badge mounted upside-down to look like a "W". Lee Marvin was great in that movie.

Quantum Leap S3, E9
"Rebel Without A Clue - September 1, 1958"
One of the best. The heavy in this episode is "Bobby Elvis" from Sons of Anarchy, if anybody ever watched that show.....
