Saddlebag colors?
The question came up at a local "circle of knowledge" discussion. What was the first year Harley started painting the saddle bags to match the color of the bike? The earliest proof I have is an October 1976 issue of "Motorcyclist" magazine that does a 1977 FLH road test that is all one color. Thanks, Gary

Re: Saddlebag colors?
Sorry Gary, you are a couple decades late. H-D did some color matched bags in the mid '50s.6hds wrote: ↑Fri Oct 15, 2021 1:36 am The question came up at a local "circle of knowledge" discussion. Initially with colored leather, then with colored plastic on the Royalite bags.

Re: Saddlebag colors?
Rubone, thanks for the response. My senior dementia is kicking in again confusing my thinking and typing. I have read in the Palmer book about the bubble bag colors in the panhead years. I was thinking of the "shovelhead" years of bag colors, 66 to 84, but didn't type it. Thanks, Gary
