Re: Servi Car gearbox drain
No drain plug on your transmission case. The H-D 45, in it's most common configuration (3-bolt tranny), from late 30's until it's final production year of '73, no means was provided to drain the transmission. I did see one setup where the outside-most mounting stud was drilled and capped. Think this one used a suction pump on the stud, and flushing oil poured in through the fill spout. Stud is not big enough for a very large hole. Anyway, you will have to be creative with your ServiCar. At least the solo models could be rolled over on the side and drained through the fill spout

Thought that might be the "case". I can be creative. I once siphoned out a car differential through the fil because the drain was stripped.
Oil will siphon, albeit very slowly. Or I'll just tip the Servi.

Re: Servi Car gearbox drain
Since a 45 gearbox loses oil almost as fast as it can be filled H-D didn't see the need for any other outlet....

Hi,
i have used a large syringe and a short hose to suck out most of the oil through the filler hole. The oil needs to be warm to make it easier on yourself. But as @Rubone says, you will probably just be refilling the gearbox at regular intervals

I successfully and repeatedly used these in stead of the original ones. Chamber in sprocket needs to be resized.
