It already had this in it ...
4-5/8" stroke, 0.030" over 3-7/16" bore

All of this is Plug & Play for 48 to 54 Pan ... Jugs are also in this deal ...
Don't have much need for the crank cause we will be going to a 4-3/4" stroke and the 69-up Timken bearing left case ...

Whole crank and Jugs are going up For Sale ... $1350 ...
Well over 2 grand if bought new ...

First one that sends the money (Shipping on your dime) gets it ...

Whoa .... Been busy as a two peckered dog ... :)

Got a world of parts on order;

Flywheels are on the way ... Using the stock taper on the pinion shaft, but went to the Late 82-86 huge taper on the sprocket shaft. Both shafts are coming from S&S along with Chromoly pushrods, 0.060" over stroker pistons and breather gear.

Got the left side case to nail down yet to do, going to be reworking the crank case vent by moving it to the right side case and plugging the left side case ... Scooter will be running a belt drive so no need for the vent to be over there anymore ...
A bit of tig welding will be done on the right case in order to pull this off, also the oil drain back ditch will be filled with weld ...

I hadn't ordered the rods just yet, plan is a set of Carrillo's H-Bean will suffice ...

Since this motor was built with performance in mind, it all ready had the 73-up oil pump speed-up gears in it ... That was nice to find in the tear down ...

Think that takes care of the lower-end ... Heads looks like they have seen seat replacement cause I'm seeing KPMI Black Diamond Shovel intake valves sitting tall on the seats ...
Perhaps today I'll get around to taking them apart ??

It had a Sifton cam in it, that looks like new money, most likely it will be seeing a bit more cam from Leineweber's line of products ....

That's pretty much it in a nutshell for now ....
More to come as the parts start to roll in ...

Well now ....

CPC (Carrillo) don't have the rods in stock ... :(

Going to be a six or eight week wait while they make up a set ....
Gave them the "Go Ahead" to make it so ...

Wonder how many 52 Pans running around on the street with a set of "Top Fuel" rods in em .. ??

Welded up the 48-52 oil return ditch ...

Image

With the new left case not having the ditch wasn't any need to keep the ditch on the right side case any more ...

Will be drilling new return holes in the new case ...

That's all the loving it's going to see from me.
Might get out some 36 grit sandpaper and a hammer 🛠

Good Golly Miss Molly ...
Got a world of parts coming for the critter ...

Re-pop Pan jugs that suppose to look just like bone stock for 48-52 will be interesting to eyeball ...

We decided to take the cubes to 92 inches.
The brand new re-pop jugs will be getting punched out a wee bit ...
(Hope their made well with a thick casting !!)

Good eyeballs 👀

Image

Threads are good down in the hole, the deck is a bit wacky ..
Going to use James foamet gaskets ... Should seal it up pretty good ..
There is no oil going to the lifter blocks on this year model, might not see a leak there, if it does leak I'ma going to get a helping hand from old JB Weld and build it up ...

Speaking of Mr. JB ...

Image

Since we are going to be running a belt primary drive, there is no need to have oil coming from the pump to feed oil into the crankcase breather system ...

JB filled the oil port ...
The adjusting screw on the pump for metering oil to the primary chain is now along for the ride ...
It has been taken out of service ...

Another mod that is in the works will be to pull out the welsh plug and machine a threaded bung to weld on ...

Image

No more crankcase breather on the left case ...

Jesse....
I have tried the 36 + hammer and wasn't really satisfied. But I have used this machine and found it to work really well to texture softish materials such as cast aluminum, and brass knife handles, like on the 1918 Trench Knife. The sharp hooked stainless bristles leave little impressions in the work surface, very nice to obscure welded and ground repairs.....

I wouldn't buy one just for working on castings, new, it is expensive, but I scored this one used on eBay, and also used it in my auto body fix it biz to remove under coatings and seam sealers....

Last time we used a pneumatic needle scaler with the air regulated down. Turned out pretty well.

Cool stuff Jesse!
