I have been reading and I see that the later part has an oil seal in it. Will the 65 part work in my '51 tranny without changing any other parts?

Yes it will. The only difference is that the end is machined for the seal and the bushing is shorter. Your not going to find an older one. I'm partial to the Andrews gear. Comes with the bushing pre installed. Bob L
