The bulb hot wire is black per the factory diagram , and lands on terminal #6 which in turn, is fed from 5 of the ignition switch.

Your original post said "wire from the switch to 42 behind the coil and yellow from 42 up to the 7 post on ignition plate

The yellow wire from terminal 42 does NOT go to the 7 terminal. It goes to the OIL warning light. The other side of the OIL light goes to terminal 7..

Shouldn't have to worry about the tape, study the diagram.

Hey Andy, maybe I'm fuzzy yet today but diagram shows yellow 42 to 7 via conduit A

Ahh, yes, you're right. I meant that after Terminal 7, it goes (on Green wire) through the "50" Oil warning light, to Terminal 6.

Sorry about that.
