Front chain oiler.

#1

Post by Vince2272 »

Guys got the 58 running. But the front chain oiler is putting out to much oil. The adjustment screw on the oil pump is turned all the way in. The pump is a replica for the year. Any help on this would be great. I'll try to send a video of her running. Thanks.

The oiler tube also acts as the crankcase breather. If the engine has sumped and allowed the lower end to fill (even partially) it will blow excess oil out the chain oiler tube until it reaches normal levels. Often happens when allowed to sit for a long period of time and has nothing to do with the oiler screw adjustment.
