I need some help on deciphering my filter bracket for my 1950FL. My bike was a basket case and I ordered new oil lines from Dennis Corso and it looks like my bracket arms are to short to mount my filter. My book says part# 63860-50. The one I have measures 3.5 X 4.5 inches. From what I've seen from Palmers there were 2 different arms? I'm looking at a VTwin # 31-4001.
Can someone give me the measurements of the correct one for my 50?
Does anyone know if the VTwin arm is longer than my 3.5" X 4.5" one?

Re: Oil Filter Bracket
You have a 58 bracket, both arms are longer on the 50 bracket and the bend is about 120 degrees.

Re: Oil Filter Bracket
Early brackets look like this. There are two types, one with a 1/4" threaded portion and one with 5/16", the latter being an upgrade due to breakage. The hole in the frame was originally for Knucklehead terminals and became redundant with the Panhead terminal box allowing their use for other purposes.

Re: Oil Filter Bracket
So the 63860-50 bracket will be longer?
Hope the VTwin one works.
