Orale Viper Sniper, being as you have reservations about the vin already, you already know it's suspect at best. I am not inferring it's a illegal stamp, but it looks like vin was built up and re-stamped, using different font stamps. I expect many more to chime in, if it has a title, well it could be a rider, but not a correct OEM stamp. Good luck, attached are just some examples of what I think are correct vins, but I am no expert, trip on your "4"s and the "4"s on the vin you posted.

I've never actually seen one so un-original looking. It would be a deal-breaker for me. Can't wait until Eric (SpeedingBigTwin) sees it!

VS, as you say, something is not right here. 8) And what makes you think it’s a 48? Maybe it’s a 49? 8) At least the front cylinder may have potential although it may not be from 48 or 49.

Just out of curiosity, what are the belly numbers? Photos? And can you post photos showing the entire outside of both cases please.

Buddhahoodvatoloco, the 48EL VIN you posted is interesting, as is the 46FL VIN. I don’t think either of them look authentic.

Eric, you wouldn't be referring to the artificial texturing and case to boss transitions, would you ?? :D

Yes, Robbie, those things did catch my eye. 8) And no doubt you'll agree some of the characters are intriguing too.
