I installed stem seals on Kibblewhite guides and Black Diamond valves. Regard seals as a retro fit.

When I built my motor a few years back I also didn't use valve seals, it doesn't smoke. I thought about using them but then the factory put oilers on the intake valves after problems developed on early pans sticking valves I guess. I've even seen a set of heads that had little "dams" between the fins to try and get some oil on the intakes. There is a shop dope article on this.

My question is just what would happen if one were to put seals on the intakes? Seems it would bring back the problem that brought on those little oilers.

Panheads seldom smoke. Installing stem seals on a stock engine fixes a nonexistent problem.
