49 Panhead tanks.
I need to sell my gas tanks to fund my chopper project. The are really clean inside and out. What should I expect to get for 49 tanks? Thanks in advance.

Re: 49 Panhead tanks.
Do they have original emblems? Shift gate mount and pivot in good shape? Shut-off rod fully functional? Fitment is 1948-50, three years. I ditto the above post, a picture is worth 1,000 words. Value? Could be in the $500-$800 range? I'd kind of like to know myself, as I've got a set too, collecting dust.

Think this is how you post. At work this is all I have. The fuel line shut off is perfect and insides are nice.

Astroglide, PM me and I'll give you my e-mail to send me some pics. I'm looking for a set for my '48 pan. If they're in good shape, we can hopefully agree on a price that will make us both happy.

Re: 49 Panhead tanks.
A decent set of '48 to '50 tanks which are clean inside and not bonded up and have the original shift gate and Fox Co. speed ball emblems can go $1400.00 or more, I've seen just the emblems go for over $400.00, just my 2 cents

Re: 49 Panhead tanks.
Or conversely, they can go for as little as a couple hundred bucks among friends or on local sites and yard sales. And condition is the key, along with originality. Lots of tanks out there that have had wrong year emblems and such applied. '48-'50 tanks are some of the most common out there as production in those early postwar years was high.
