I would greatly appreciate knowing what color, if any, the panhead engine cases should be. 1960 in particular. I haven't seen any mention of this in the topics on this site.
Thanks in advance

Re: Panhead engine cases - painted or not?
Well, I kept looking and see that the answer is no paint on the cases. Sorry for the interruption.

H-D cases from the '30s up have always been "as cast" aluminum with no finish. If you are concerned on correctness of parts get a copy of Bruce Palmer's " How to restore your Harley Davidson" volume II. It has every year covered as to paint, plating, and other finishes.
