Hi I got this cylinder from a guy and I just realized it has been damaged and ground out at the end of the arrow above the fins am I still going to be able to use this or is it junk .

Should be fine if the gasket surface is flat and smooth. If you turn it down to clean it up don't forget to shorten the fire ring an equivalent amount.
