Hello,
I took the shocks off my 58FL to clean them.
How is the chrome cover fixed to the shock ?
I would like to remove the cover to clean inside without disassembling the whole shock, what is the best way to do it ?
Sincerely
removing shock covers

Re: removing shock covers
thank you Panhead,
this is the manual I have, But as I can't see what is the shape of the inside of the cover itself, all I want to know is what holds it in place ?
sincerely

Re: removing shock covers
There are a couple of split keys at the top of the shock. You need to compress the shock to remove the keys. A couple old clutch plates work well.
