Forgive my ignorance, but how do I identify my cam.
If I pull the cover, will marking be visible? Or do I have to pull the cam out?
Thanks.

Re: Need to ID my cam
I believe the markings or identification are on the back of the rear lobe. You will have to remove your cam.
I removed my cam and it had no identification markings on it at all. I believe the FLH cam will have a H on the rear lobe.
I just purchased a crane cam and it has the ID on the rear lobe as well.

Re: Need to ID my cam
The camshaft will not easily come out of an assembled engine. In order to easily remove it you must remove (or at least remove all tension) the pushrods to get the load off the cam. A pair of rubber bands will help keep the lifters in place if pushed up and banded in pairs. You will also have to reset the timing marks, re-time the ignition, etc. Are you experiencing a problem or just curious?
