This maybe a dumb question, but why is the axle slot longer on the right side of the rigid frame axle carrier than the left? The regular slot for the axle is the same length with raised edges for the axle to clamp on, but behind where the axle rides on the right side only is more frame and a loop opening that's not on the left.
I had never noticed it but the jack stand mounts are missing from my frame and making weld ons tabs will be a lot different from the right to the left.

The extended slot is to allow the wheel lug wrench to be inserted to remove the lugs for changing tires.

Always wondered about that. One less thing to keep me up at night. This site is one of the great things about the internet.
