My 49 Panhead has factory corrected or goof up numbers, do you?

Thanks SBT I may do that. My boss is good and the 49FL is also but those new numbers look a little funny as a new 4 in part of the new number is like this and not open at the top. :o

That's unusual because I would have expected the normal open-top style, including a slightly curved left stroke and a horizontal serif at the base.
H-D used a sans serif 4 with closed and pointed top like this in most, but not all, 1964 Panhead serial numbers but so far I've only seen it in the year portion and not in the sequence portion.

If you contact the factory please let us know the outcome.
