Compensating sprocket nut
I'm trying to locate a compensating sprocket nut with the grease fitting. My assembly has all the holes for lube, but the nut has no fitting. Want to avoid total disassembly to grease it, and my primary cover has the cap. Tried to drill it but its harder than the drill. Thanks, Gary

Re: Compensating sprocket nut
What year bike are you talking about? H-D eliminated the zerk in '66 as enclosed primaries no longer needed it. The lube was by oil mist in the primary.

Re: Compensating sprocket nut
As Rubone said they stopped the fitting in 60 or whatever.I have Personally Drilled a few /Taper tapped slowly ,in machine by hand/Then pulled the Tapertap after I had a good 3-4 threads going. Then put Bottoming-tap in & again Carefully by hand & use plenty lube to wash chips away/Then get a ZERK that will work best for you!--Some like it straight in/cause theres access to it easily. Most were on a 45 Again just so you didn't have to take everything off--just make a opening & fit the small hand pistol grease gun & do your thing!.ME I pull everything off anyway & I have a straight one with no access-plug.Once you grease a Compensating Sprocket//IT Rarely needs to be done again for a longtime!/I pull my complete primary apart every 2-yrs for a cleaning & chain chek/& clutch check.Ill tell you in those 2yrs. That Compensater stays GREASED!.I mean were talking street motors here & I love that Compensater!---Respectfully---RICHIE
