I'll dis-assemble with an impact, Folks,

...But never assemble.

Once I had to completely disassemble and re-assemble a shovelhead for a fellow who spun his sprocket shaft with an impact. The inboard nut was laying between the flywheels in the cases.

Shock is great to loosen a taper, but to be avoided otherwise.

everybody does things differently. I use an impact to snug the nut, i don't hammer the piss out of it and i don't use loctite on the nut. I have never had a problem.

I've received some information back from RiveraPrimo about this and thought I would post in case it helps anyone else out in the future.

2/3 nut engagement is ok.
75-85 ft lbs.

They also reccomended the stiffer "gold" spring for the clutch if using a mousetrap or a foot clutch.

Hi ks8780.

Thanks for the info. Do you have a part# for that GOLD spring for the 1056-0002 clutch.
I want to put my "mouse trap" back on soon and this could save a lot of hassle setting it up.

I believe the gold is for drag racing so will have extra pull to return the clutch against the mouse trap spring pressure.
But I can't find a part#.
Thanks,
