Servi-car vin#

#1

Post by 4pans1man »

The 1935 Servi-car I looked at this morning had the 35r2199 vin stamped on the engine boss. Below the rear cylinder were the numbers ''1945''. Any thoughts? Photo posted in "misc". Have other photo's of the bike.

Thanks, Tony.

The 35R prefix would be correct on the VIN pad, that just means it is a low compression 45. H-D did not use the G prefix for Servi-Cars until the late thirties. However, that is not an RL engine in your pictures, it is a W series, and poorly stamped. So either someone used an early title on a later bike or you have a mismatched pile of parts. How about more pictures?
