Identify this swingarm ??

#1

Post by neilw »

I bought this swingarm 15 or so years ago along with a frame to go with it , but as it turmns out ( thanks to you guys ) the frame is not what it was suposed to be ( a pan frame) so now I dug this swingarm out hoping you can ID it too. I don't see anything like it in my books but the dont cover fx's and newer stuff.
Thanks , Neil

Looks like a match with the swingarm on my '77 shovelhead.

So , it looks like 1958-1972 used an earlier swingarm , then from 1973 to later than 1984 ( my book stops at 1984 ) used the one pictured here . How late were these used ?

The square cross section swing arms are for disc brakes and started in 73. Your swing arm appears to be a 77 and later variety due to the lack of passenger footrest mounting blocks.

It looks like my spare wheel trueing stand. It fits in a vice well, and a magnetic dial indicator sticks nicely to the square sides.

Hey you guys , I just posted this on ebay but someone said it also fit some FX models. If this is correct I'll edit my description and add FX to it.. I only have FL books .
