Bent fork stem repairable?

#1

Post by panhead_kicker »

I've got an early forkstem #45705-48 that has a slight bow in the stem itself, centered just above the lock hole in the stem. If I hold a straight edge up against the stem, There is about 1/16" of light showing at the center of the bow. No other apparent damage to an otherwise nice looking lower tree. Is this considered repairable?

Thanks Cotten. I just found in the service manual the section on forkstem repair, and bent stem corrections are mentioned.
