Andrews AB cam
1955 FLE stock 74ci -- running S&S Super E -- 2 into 1 free flowing exhaust. close ratio gears w/ 11mm BDL -- 25t / 51t.... I ride solo only and really need more top end power. Any input on using Andrews AB cam with solid lifters. Thanks.

Re: Andrews AB cam
On a stock Panny I like the Andrews #1 cam. It will fit without head work.
But if you really want that bike to be "top end" worthy there is no doubt that a set of stroker wheels is a sure cure. My '68 Shovel used $&$ 4-5/8 wheels with "80" jugs for 90 inches, and I can run with the pack with that setup. There are others on this site with happy stroker engines. And fancy cams and big carbs are not necessary with them....

Re: Andrews AB cam
Hey Jerome! I know this thread is 7 months old, but if you haven't already done, I can say from experience that you'll probably be happier with a straight A grind over the AB. I was running a AB in a Shovelhead and bought a 57 FLH set up similar to yours with a stock engine. When I rebuilt the pan I went with the A grind, and it had a happier midrange than the shovel, but was really (REALLY) close at top end. I've put the A grind in at least 7 customer bikes over the last 25 years and had 100% good feedback. Regular 8.0:1 cast pistons. 9:1 forged are even better. Super e or b, fishtails, Mallory or equivalent dist., and 24/49 97t back. Hope it's working out well for you.
