I have several carburetors I would like to recondition, but do not want to media blast them.
So, do any of you guys use ultrasonic cleaning?

Yes, it works great, especially on carb parts. I like mine so much, I'm getting rid of my bead blaster. I use Simple Green in it.

I'll second that, ultrasonic cleaners are great. When I was in the printing industry we had a large tank behind each press. Some of us who worked on cars would put our carbs in the tanks for about thirty minutes or so, worked well.
Have one that I picked up at a yard sale (holds about a gallon), haven't used it yet but now that you bring it up I'll dust it off and drop a Linkert in.

RD…
Looks like that piece of equipment I was referring to is for sterilizing dental tools not an ultrasonic cleaner…hmmm…anyway, cleaned it up, rewired it, put a solution of 25% Simple Green and dunked an M-51 in it. Boiled it for an hour, IR reader claims 200 degrees (elevation 2,800ft). Not bad, left the patina which I was happy about. Still had to run a .410 bore brush to get the nozzle out.
Looks like I’ll be sticking with the Berryman Chem-Dip.
Good Luck.

Mike....
Thanks for the pics.
The Linkert looks good, retaining enough patina to look "original" and not artificially "new", like blasting would render.
You also saved yourself hours with solvent and a scrub brush. I'like it.
Now all I need to do is decide how big a unit I need, and how much money I wish to spend. My targer app is for $&$ Super B carbs, and some Parris Dunn Dummy Training Rifle parts, and $200 cash outlay. We'll see how that shakes out....
Thank Again for the excellent pics.... RooDog....

Roodog, if you buy one of the cleaners with the mesh basket, like these https://www.vevor.com.au/ultrasonic-cle ... 0724043647 , make sure the basket has decent rubber feet on it as the one i bought a few years ago had what appeared to be heat shrink as the feet and after a few weeks of use, the vibration wore through the feet until there was metal to metal which wore through the bottom of the unit and blew the circuit board. The hole was very small so i didn't notice it until it was too late.
