I have not found the clips for the strips
I bought these and found them still available on e bay if they are what type you are referring to.

Punch this in the search field on e bay, because I cant seem to post a link.

Harley Fender Trim Clips part# 59225-39 Knucklehead, 45, Sidecar, 1938-1948.

Those are not the clips. those are for side fender trim. The correct clips are extremely elusive and much smaller than those side fender clips. There are two sizes, sort of small and smaller...both part numbers end in -40, one year only stuff.

Here are some pics of a full set of '38-'39 fender top strips for deluxe package The two long strips and the short ones are rear fender, the four equal length ones are for the front fender. Note the factory fasteners which are Tee screws with nuts. They are different than the 1940 type with spring clips.

Finally getting a couple pics of the 1940 only Deluxe trim retaining clips. These are made like the -39 fender side trim clips but smaller to fit the -40 trim pieces. The larger is for the center strips, the small one for the side strips. Also pictured is a -39 clip for scale. These are part of a complete NOS set of trim.
