Post by Diesel10r »

gonna look on ebay, hate to have to go aftermarket. Some how had a piece of my case in my hand try to put mine back together. possibly a prior crack/break. right on the door side. 3speed with reverse is what it had when I got it, dont know if theres a case difference . if no whats a decent price?
can paypal..Thanks

That is a common place for WL/G cases to be broken. Good cases are thin on the ground and spendy. From '64 up they were only electric start so will not work on a kickstart bike, no provision for the starter gears. I have a complete 3&R gearbox but no spare cases. I know that Ralph Camp, the 45 gearbox specialist, has been looking for 45 trans cases on all the sites. Perhaps Steve at Resurrection Cycle has one. 45s are his main business.

Yeah, I noticed that some of the eBay cases are broken in the same spot or have old repairs there.

I know there are aftermarket options but dont really want to go that road. Let me ask, what should I expect to pay for a decent case? :(
