How old are you?
A response in another thread made me stop and wonder...how old are all of you guys?
Are we a bunch of old men? Or is there a good contingent of younger riders who appreciate these old beasts?
I'll start-I'm 62...I guess I am old...

Roo here...
I'm 76, and was kick starting a project Panhead just three years ago before I delivered it to my Brother who is now kicking it at 72.
I push a button now a daze as they are 5 speeds, and I just don't like having a kicker in the way of my right leg.

Re: How old are you?
I am 73 and kick my pan regularly. I guess I am lucky, most of my friends (same age) have stopped riding. I do have a shoveled with electric stare I ride sometimes.

Re: How old are you?
I will be 69 in November. Knees give me some discomfort but overall in good shape.
Fortunately my 55FL mutt is an easy starter . Unless of course as we all know there is a crowd around admiring commenting and asking why it does not have a button to start it. Then it can be a bit stubborn.

Re: How old are you?
I'm 60. I still think I'm 18 until I do something stupid that brings me back to reality. Still kickstart my stroker panhead, and while my recently "almost finished" '68 shovelhead has electric start, I probably kick that over more than I use the button, just because I can. I hope there's a new generation of riders doing what we did to keep our relics (before they were considered relics and were our daily riders) on the road, but I'm sorry to report that I don't know anyone like that around where I live.

I'm 64
4 kick start bikes., I have to have them tuned absolutly perfect as I can only kick for so long. Well ones a 45, my leaf blower can turn that over. Try to keep witnesses down as it all goes sideways with them around.

Re: How old are you?
I turn 50 on Sunday.
Got my first motorcycle at 16. Rode my whole life since then, with only a few gaps.My last bike before the Panhead was a '78 Shovelhead in a '66 frame.
In 2002, I was working for a "dot-com" when the dot com crash happened, so I went back to school and got a motorcycle mechanic's certification, and for a few years I ran a small independent motorcycle repair business.

I'm 69, still have my Johnny Cash '58 FL which I acquired in 1974. Gonna ride it tomorrow, starts fairly easy most times. Also own a 1997 Dyna since 2000.

Re: How old are you?
65. Still alive and kicking (pun intended).
Old kick start bikes are something of a spectacle these days. We were at a biker bar recently, me on my '61 Pan and my buddy on his '41 Indian Chief, the oldest and only kick-only bikes there. The crowd was captivated by our old iron starting rituals and applauded when they both fired up first pop.
