Taking my 17 year old son out for his first motorcycle ride on the road. He just got his car and motorcycle license this week and we are going riding.

Sounds like something neither of you will ever forget! I have many memories of dirt riding with my dad, he was one of a kind...

Just saw this thread now. On last Friday when it posted I was having surgery on my hand. I'll be spending the next month at least with splints, bandages and a sling. No riding. It's only been a few days and I'm going out of my mind. My '68 that I've been restoring over the past two years is just about ready to fire up, but I can't put the tanks on with one hand. I did, however, manage to put together one good Bendix carb out of two half-good carbs with one hand, although I must confess that I brought it down to the bar where I knew my friend would be and enlisted his help in holding it still for some operations.

Ole parts from my stash refurbished.

The 2 different type of clutch discs I found were nicely conserved in a bucket with oil  Cleaned them with gasoline and will see if they`re still ok.
Oversize roller bearings needed.

I ordered a retainer and threw into the trash can right away.
The original Ram-Jett was a dirt cheap nicely fitting appliance that worked but this chink copy nowadays is worth nothing.
Cause I anticipated that I ordered 3 springs for the original setup.
Those am springs jump outta the grooves of the long studs just by hitting the hub with a screwdriver
Those am springs are wound clockwise.
I found some counter clockwise wound springs in the drawer and they do the job

I checked out this Tamer setup and oh well I don`t understand it so the OEM setup will need to prove itself.

Going to a chicken BBQ with my wife and then this evening I'm going to see "Nick Mason and his Saucer Full of Secrets" band. Nick was the drummer for Pink Floyd throughout the entirety of their existence, but this band only plays the stuff that came out before their best selling album "Dark Side of the Moon". I happen to like the old stuff better, so it ought to be an interesting show.

Sounds like fun! Those early days of Pink Floyd seem like a hundred years ago,

Well, at least fifty years ago. It was a lot of fun. For every single song they played I thought to myself that I never expected to ever hear this performed live by anyone!
