Hey guys,
I am making some changes to my bike, swapped out the springer for a glide front end. I have the glide drum and also a springer drum here, I prefer the look of the springer drum and have seen a few guys running them. Mostly on Vard front ends, it's also mentioned in the custom harley cookbook. Trying to figure out the best way to handle it, it will involve machining a new spacer to make everything play nicely however the cookbook mentions simply cutting the stock spacer down, can't see how this would work.
Has anyone here had experience with this before? I know I am making work for myself here, but i prefer the look.
Cheers

I would think, similar to my hydraulic rear in a rigid, that getting the backing plate square and rigid on the leg, and not cocking when brake is applied would be most important.

Re: Springer drum on a glide front end
I would think it's like putting any mini drum these days on a standard front end. Just have to make sure you have the right spacer and weld a mount to the lower fork for the brake stay. Shouldn't be too difficult? I might even try it myself now that I see this. If you end up doing it, make a thread on here so we can follow along and get ideas. Good luck with the project.
